God Perfects That Which Concerns Me

God perfects that which concerns me. He always provides, he always provides.  I can’t state it enough, He always provides.  Sometimes we think that this thing has happened and that’s bad or that thing has happened and it’s good, but in reality, it is all God’s Will and He always provides.  We have learned in our home to acknowledge that whatever is happening, no matter how “bad” or “good” it seems to our human perspective, to thank God for it.  It is happening for a reason and it will serve us in the end.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.  Romans 28:8

We have certainly had our share of struggles in our home, but He always finds a way to reward us, to make sure we know that He has our backs and that He is in control.  Sometimes I will notice that an issue has been resolved or fixed or someone says something interesting to me that shows me that He is in control.

And He has fixed the problem.

The more we stop trying to control or predict or manipulate the issues in our lives, the happier and more peaceful we will be.  Can we give up control and put everything into His hands?

When a problem gets stuck and just keeps running wild in the mind, it is important to feel it and then release it.  When will we give it to God to work on?  Why are we holding onto it—is there some suffering we think we have to go through?  Will it be a wasted day, week, month, or more while we ruminate on a problem instead of giving it to God to fix?  Why not give it immediately to God and be done with it?  God perfects that which concerns me.

Paul was in chains in Rome when he wrote to the church in Philippi.  Did he write about how difficult it was to be imprisoned because of this faith?  No.  Did he moan and run it around and around in his head about how unfair this was, how he had a plan and it was not working, telling the guards that held him how ridiculous this was, how he should be let go.  No.  Instead, he wrote verses like, “Rejoice!  I say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.” (Phil 4:4-5)  And, “I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News.  For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ.  And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.”  (Phil 1:12-14)

By giving his issues to God, he was able to see how God was working through him even though it was not in the way he had planned.  Give it to God and He will make all things work for good.

If we truly believe that everything happens as it should and that God is in control, then we need to put the faith behind it and let him work His amazing abilities on our issues instead of trying to fix them with our weak and feeble human abilities.  Punishing ourselves by walking around in pain is futile.

Jesus died so that we might live life…abundantly.

Say it as many times per day as you need–God perfects that which concerns me.  Say it over and over as issues crop up and the day wears on, difficulties and struggles abound.  God perfects that which concerns me.  It’s true, and our lives can reflect that truth.  Say it, think it, immerse yourself in it—God perfects that which concerns me.  And He will.
